Nature, traveling, literature and love inspire my
art. My journey into the world of art started
when I moved to Napa back in 1983. Though I
was born in Toronto, Canada and raised in the
heart of Los Angeles, California, it was Napa
that provided the fertile ground for my artistic
growth. My artwork, done
mainly in acrylic, oil, and
monotype art mediums, has
been seen in many Napa
group shows and in two
solo exhibits.
Water reflections and
skyscapes are particularly
fascinating to me because
the water and sky are
continuously changing.
When I am observing the
sky, I feel connected to something
greater than myself; the water's reflection
is very calming and increases my creativity.
My love of beauty led me to the field of make-up in which I worked as a make-up artist and started my own line of cosmetics. Living in Napa, with its ever-changing scenery, my desire to express myself through art became apparent to me.
I also studied psychology at Sonoma State University. Wanting to combine my study of psychology and art, I was attracted to art therapy and volunteered at the Community Counseling Center of Napa, and at the C.O.P.E. Family Center.
My work reflects ethereal, dream-like states of nature. Combining my love of color, texture and warmth, I create pieces that depict the feelings I receive from nature. My philosophy about life is that thoughts
create reality - so my hope
is that my artwork will inspire
positive energy to all who
view it, and encourage people to
believe in a positive reality for their
own lives and the universe.
